Carole Wynstra, Board President
Walnut Creek, CA

Carole joined the Diablo Theatre Company board in 2005. A 28 year resident of Walnut Creek, Carole has served as a volunteer and board member for numerous non-profits. She is also a board member of the Walnut Creek Library Foundation, trustee of Diablo Regional Arts Association and board member of The Eugene O’Neill Foundation, Tao House, where she served as President for three years and has served on the Walnut Creek Arts Commission.

Chris Hovey, Vice President Elect
Walnut Creek , CA

Chris has served on the Diablo Theatre Company board since 2008. A Bay Area resident for most of his life, he now lives in  Walnut Creek with his wife and two young sons. He has worked for PMI Mortgage Insurance since 2002 and currently serves as the Vice President of Business Information and Analytics. Chris graduated from San Francisco State University with a BA in English and has an MBA in Finance from St. Mary's College of California  where he earned top honors. Chris is also a graduate of the Leadership Contra Costa program organized by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce.

Richard C. Raines, Secretary
Walnut Creek, CA

Rich is an attorney with Gagen McCoy in Danville, handling general civil litigation.  He is Past President of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, Past President of Contra Costa Legal Aid Foundation and is an author and lecturer for California Continuing Education of the Bar.  He served as Advisor and Member of the Litigation Section of the California State Bar, and as a Delegate to the California Bar Convention.  He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Hastings College of the Law.

Rod Lucich, Artisitic Vice President

Rod joined the Diablo Theatre Company Board in 2009. He is Assistant Vice President and Compliance Manager at RCM Capital Management in San Francisco. He became interested in musical theatre when his daughter became involved and started working with the company with Ragtime. He has been a member of the artistic committee since 2004 and also works as the production Manager and the assistant producer for current productions.

Claudia Mauzy Nemir, Director and Past President
Alamo, CA

A retired bank manager, Claudia is a fifth generation native of the Walnut Creek, Danville, Alamo areas. She is a past recipient of Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Woman of the Year award, has served in an executive capacity with the Eugene O'Neill Foundation, Phi Mu Foundation, and the Civic Arts Education Advisory Council and is a two-term member of the Walnut Creek Arts Commission. She is a past president of the Danville Alamo branch of the American Association University Women,  Soroptimist International, and of the Alamo Police Advisory Committee, as well as past Chair of the Discovery Center.

J.P. McDermott, MBA,  Director and Past President
Danville, CA

JP has been on the Diablo Theatre Company board since 2002 and volunteered prior to that while his daughter participated in the Stars2000 Teen Theater program. He is a registered representative and insurance advisor with MassMutual Financial Group. JP has over 20 years experience in the communications industry as an executive in sales, operations, customer care and general management. JP was Vice President – Client Services and Executive Coach for the Growth & Leadership Center, providing leadership training and coaching to technology companies and executives. He was also VP Customer Care for iBeam Broadcasting, Regional Sales VP for SBC (now AT&T) and held various management positions within AT&T.

JP has a BA from the University of California, San Diego, and an Executive MBA from St. Mary's College of California. His passion is helping others and he has volunteered on many non-profit boards, including Diablo Theatre Company, the Executive Board of Junior Achievement of the Bay Area, St. Mary’s Graduate School of Business Alumni Chapter, and as an appointed Commissioner for the Town of Danville’s Arts Commission. As an advisor with MassMutual Financial Group, he is combining his desire to help others with his strong background in consulting, coaching and experience in finance. He is married with one daughter.

Grete Egan, Director and Past President
Walnut Creek, CA

Grete Egan was one of the original founders of Diablo Light Opera Company in 1959. She remains an important advisor and supporter of the company that is now know as Diablo Theatre Company. She has served as the board president and was a frequent producer of the company mainstage productions, as well as a performer in the early years of the company. Grete is a recipient of the Arts and Culture Commission of Contra Costa County award for outstanding achievement in the Arts. She started the Law League and led youth tours of the Contra Costa Superior Court. She sings in the St. Mathews Lutheran Church chancel choir and is a member of PEO, a service organization that provides scholarship money to young women for college. Grete served for four years on the Walnut Creek Arts Commission. She is a retired from teaching first grade in Walnut Creek.

Martin Bach (Returning)                        
Danville, CA
Martin Bach is a Senior Vice President of Investments at Morgan Stanley.  He will be celebrating his 40th year with the firm in June.  He has acted as a Financial Advisor to Diablo Theatre Company for the past 20 years.

Martin was elected to the Board of Directors of Diablo Theatre Company in April 2004.  Prior to that re-election, he had been a board member from 1980-1992, spending two terms as the Chairman of the Board.  Martin has also been an active member of the Diablo Regional Arts Association (DRAA), Contra Costa Musical Theatre (CCMT), and the Lesher Center for the Arts (LCA).  His relationship with these entities has been and will continue to be helpful to Diablo Theatre Company.

Reginald Keith Marshall
Walnut Creek, CA

Reggie has resided in Walnut Creek, California since May 2001.  He holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and minor in Journalism from the Alabama State University. Reggie currently is employed by Wells Fargo Financial as a Lease End Sales Consultant.  Before moving to the East Bay, Reggie worked in finance with First Security Corporation- Salt Lake City Utah, Citicorp- New York City, and The Sirote-Permutt Law Firm in Birmingham Alabama. His current position with Wells Fargo involves the restructuring of current lease contracts with business and private clients.

Mr. Marshall currently serves as a member of the Walnut Creek Arts Commission, and is a former graduate of the Walnut Creek Citizens Institute. Reggie also is a member of the Contra Costa Central Committee Republican Party. He enjoys playing trombone, jazz, and reading books on history.

Martha Rosenberg
Walnut Creek, CA

Martha Rosenberg has played flute and piccolo as a member of the Diablo Theatre Company orchestra for the past 10 years.  She is also involved in performing chamber music for various venues in the Bay Area.  Martha is a licensed attorney and her legal career has included a private practice in civil and family law litigation and several years as a court administrator and a manager of the Family Law Division for the Superior Court in Contra Costa County.  Martha is also a trained mediator.  Since May 2007, she has been the managing attorney for a non-profit agency.

Sherry Dorfman
Alamo, CA

Joining the board in 2009, Sherry has been involved in various community activities including PTA, School Site Council, Blue Ribbon School Committee, Livorna Dolphins Swim Team Board, as well as the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay. She is currently a member of the scholarship committee for the Contra Costa County Court Scholarship Fund. She retired from the Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa after 18 years in executive management and is now consulting, primarily with the judicial branch and California community colleges.

Ben Krantz

A board member since 2009, Ben Krantz is a professional photographer with a love of theatre. He worked for Ritz Camera Centers for several years and opened “ben krantz STUDIO” in 2008, providing high-end photographic services as well as cinematography and film production. Ben also produces for several Bay Area theater companies.
